The Papaia Pages

Welcome to the Papaia Pages where I weave narratives through collage and prose!
Every piece you see here is a print of a collage handcrafted by me using my trusty X-Acto knife, a glue stick (yes, the purple ones like we used to use in kindergarten), images from art books, old photos, magazines that I’ve sourced my thrift shops and friend’s recycling bins and sprinkled with a little magic. As a spellcasting storyteller, I delight in storytelling in all mediums. With collaging, I get to expand the possibilities of reality to something more akin to how I like to imagine the world, placing characters or subjects in unexpected places that invite the viewer to fill in the blanks or tilt their head and go “huh.” Less rules, more play.

Every collage is born from hours of careful cutting, arranging and rearranging until something surprising emerges. Think of these prints as windows into little alternate universes where anything is possible!
